Relationship Assessment

The Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) is one of the most widely used relationship assessments in relationship research and couples counselling.

It helps identify strengths, areas of stress, and overall relationship satisfaction. Many couples find that completing the assessment gives them a clearer understanding of what is working well and where they may need support.

At Relate, we use the Dyadic Adjustment Scale as a starting point for mapping your relationship. The results help us identify patterns, provide personalised feedback, and where appropriate, recommend resources, education, or counselling options.

Most people complete the assessment in 10–15 minutes.

Why Complete This Assessment?

Many relationship problems develop gradually. Communication becomes harder, conflict increases, connection decreases, and couples often struggle to identify exactly what has changed.

This assessment creates a snapshot of your relationship today.

Your responses are securely stored so that future assessments can be compared with your current results. This allows you to track changes over time and measure progress in areas such as:

• Relationship satisfaction
• Communication and agreement
• Emotional connection
• Conflict management
• Overall relationship health

For many couples, this becomes a valuable benchmark for understanding growth and change over time.

Your Assessment Will Be Reviewed by Dan Gummo

Every assessment submitted through Relate is reviewed by Dan Gummo, Relate's Practice Manager.

Dan provides personalised feedback, helps identify important relationship patterns, and recommends appropriate next steps based on your results.
