In Hwa is an experienced individuals’ and couples’ counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor, with training in social work, psychosynthesis counselling, psychotherapy and addiction treatment. He has many years of experience working successfully with clients with mental health and relationship issues. In Hwa has demonstrated a strong commitment to working with clients with cross-cultural and sexual identity issues. He is competent to assist people to find purpose, meaning and value in their life journey, to help them improve relationships and become freer.

In Hwa was born in Korea but emigrated to New Zealand where he has lived for the last 28 years. He has enjoyed working with the Asian mental health service as a contractor, in private practice for many years, for the Family Court, Waitemata PHO and ACC.

Ethical and professional practice are priorities for him, as is self-care. He practices a healthy lifestyle by ensuring he recharges his own batteries – watching movies, spending time with friends relaxing, camping, travelling in New Zealand and overseas and enjoying delicious food.

In Hwa’s qualifications are a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences.

Counselling sessions can be in Korean and English.
