How I Got Here

“Throughout my life, I have been interested in the question - “What does it mean to live a good life?” And this became my calling to the counselling world. When I was young, I focused on authenticity, problems of freedom and responsibility, and finding a sense of meaning. As I moved into middle age, I realised that I was focused on my individuality and didn’t know how to have a good relationship. That’s how I became involved with Relate. Over the last few years, I’ve been soaking up all the relationship skills and wisdom… and loving being married again.”

- Dan

In the video below, Dan gives a primer on the process of making life changes and how to manage expectations effectively. Learn about the significance of living in the present, and how distinguishing between 'Kronos' and 'Kairos' time allows for change.  He discusses the limits of human power and the importance of setting realistic goals. He gives an analogy of recognizing your true nature—like an acorn growing into an oak tree—and the process of aligning yourself with your authentic self.
