Relationship Counselling can be a powerful way to help a person work through early life trauma. 

A partner's presence, emotional grounding and support can ease the challenges of trauma therapy. this video course contains an interview of Relate’s team of relationship counsellors and their perspectives and strategies of using couples therapy to help  couples work through childhood issues. not surprisingly, couples that use relationship therapy to work through trauma experience a deepening of connection, relationship resilience and communication.
